How
to file a time claim:
Go to the
"Miscellaneous Claim" option found in
crewcall. Submit your claim using the
available codes. Always include
specific comments.
What Do I Do If I
Filed A Time Claim And It Was Declined?
Print 3 copies of
your denied time claim (using the time
slip inquiry optin under crewcall) including
all employee comments. Forward those
copies to YOUR Local Chairman
immediately.
How Long Does The
Company Have To Approve Or Deny A Time
Claim?
The company has 60
days to handle all time claims.
What happens to a
denied time claim after I forward it to
my Local Chairman?
The Local Chairman
(LC) will immediately attempt to get
your time claim paid on a local
level. If that doesn't work, the LC
will appeal the time claim (within 60
days of the denial) to the Division
Superintendent. The Local Chairman will
forward you a copy of this appeal. The
Division Superintendent will then over
rule the denial or uphold it. If the
denial is upheld, the Division
Superintendent will send a denial to the
appealing LC. The LC will then appeal
the Division Superintendents denial to
the General Chairman. The General
Chairman will appeal the denial to Labor
Relations and if there is no resolution,
a Public Law Board will be scheduled.
Copies of all of the appeals and denials
will be forwarded to the employee who
initially filed the time claim.
How Do I File A
Grievance?
Grievances are filed
by your Local Chairman. If your
AGREEMENT was violated, contact your
Local Chairman and instruct the chairman
to grieve the incident. Please request
copies of all the correspondence. The
LC will submit all grievances to the
Division Superintendent.
If I Am Approached
By The Carrier In Regard To The START
Policy, Should I Include My Local
Chairman?
ALWAYS include your
Local Chairman in START conversations,
conferences, meetings, etc.
